This is a useless and somewhat offensive guide to Bolivia. It is written in the tone of a snooty First World traveler who was only here for a short time like 20 years ago, and lacks useful information about actually interacting with Bolivians. Case in point is a quote about driving in Bolivia "Driving in Bolivia is abysmal: the horn is used instead of the brain." I would return this book to Amazon, but I don't want this book and its misinformation about this wonderful, beautiful country to get wider circulation. If you want to know more about the culture of or travel in Bolivia, then come with an open mind and the vastly superior Lonely Planet guide to Bolivia.

I found this book to be a very brief but highly informative overview of Bolivia. I recommend it to anyone who is planning to go there. It is not a typical guide book in that it does not recommend restaurants or hotels, but it provides a very good overview of the land and its people, which should prove helpful.
